A blue field shows two figures looking up at a monolith structure to them, but a smartphone screen to us that is a still from Amazon’s Kindle Vella video.
Amazon’s Kindle Vella

With Vella, Amazon creates a path for beginners at fiction to earn as they learn.

Kindle Vella is Amazon’s level up of the Kindle platform for fiction. The secret to its seductive quality is serialization. The call to action for writers is to create something in episodes.

Online content is making big changes right now.

Good for writers and readers alike

Vella’s value proposition seems like a win-win proposition. Readers get to kick the tires on a new story for free. Writers have the chance to attract eyes willing to risk a chapter but not to commit to a novel.

All the players, from Facebook and Twitter to now Amazon, are taking different approaches to the challenge of matching eyes with words. This is Amazon’s new look.

If Amazon were Coca-Cola, Vella is Amazon’s Orange Vanilla Kindle, a new flavor familiar with one clear product differentiation. Vella allows you to serialize. That was the factor that snagged my attention.

Get in on the ground floor.
