US Media Fibs About War in Ukraine

It’s understandable though.

President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation gave two long speeches in February in which he enumerated his goals for attacking Ukraine.

1. Stop Ukraine from bombarding Donbas, which began in earnest on Feb. 16.

2. Parry the attack started by Ukraine’s paramilitaries to retake Crimea.

3. Secure water for Crimea, which Ukraine blocked, and preserve a land bridge to Crimea.

4. Create access to the Black Sea.

Propaganda vs reality

It’s impossible to get an accurate read of events. Bloomberg, like almost all media, covers the war in a disingenuous manner.

1. “Nearly ten weeks into the war, Russia makes only marginal progress in the East.”

The exact opposite is true.

Ukraine’s soldiers are surrounded and holding on by a thin lifeline. Russian forces captured a Canadian general from the underground steel mill in which Ukraine’s remnants, international soldiers, and some civilians were trapped.

They run low on food, water, and medicine even as we speak. Russia has begun to mop up the remaining resistance. Scott Ritter made the distinction between a fight and the current…
