Umair — I have been struggling for the last three days to write what I just read. You did a fantastic job.

I was trying to approach it from the vantage of the recent food stamp cut — which led to discovering how poor the the US is compared to other wealthy countries — then to Brexit and how the Brits are soon to dismantle NHS with US help!

Then I saw the austerity/privatize/profit model both here and in the UK. Still, I could not find a perspective big enough. You did. It’s the failure of RICH nation-states, the idea that they can follow the same model of a banana republic in which the rich families tie up all the capital until they break their system.

All of which to say — you did a yeoman’s job and I can finally let that idea go. Thanks for doing such great work.
