His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, Duke of York, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Knight of the Royal Victorian Order, Captain in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy, no longer exists.

That person was erased from royal history today.

Andrew Windsor, the commoner, remains. He is an object who must face the music. No one cares what he has to say or what he thinks. Once his alleged victim is made whole, he is in exile.

There is a lesson here for men. Then we should unpack the many ranks held by the unhappiest man of the day. Finally, his near future can serve as a cautionary tale for us all.

It’s a lie

You can’t buy intimacy. They can’t sell it. In reality, they want money.

In reality, you want intimacy borne of universal acceptance of you at your most depraved, just because, not for cash.

The truth is that even if someone wants to sell intimacy, that’s not theirs to sell.

Here’s what I mean — we harbor illusions about how we, as people, work. We think concepts like awe, or genuine connection with another human being, are commodities for our enjoyment. They do serve as that at times.
