High rates of infection plus high rates of vaccination make for high rates of confusion.

One thing is certain. The Delta variant of the SARS-CoV2 virus that causes COVID-19 is rocking the United Kingdom.

The UK Is Hit Hard

There were 60,655 cases of people infected by the Delta variant. There were 73 deaths this week, up from last week’s total of 42 deaths.

Of those 73 deaths, 26 were people who were fully vaccinated.

On June 16, 3474 new cases of infection were in people who had been vaccinated.

Britain has inoculated a more significant percentage of people than most other countries in Europe.

Yet, they have a massive surge. “We are aiming to live with this virus like we do with flu,” Health Secretary Matt Hancock told Parliament this week.

Most Delta cases are new, with 88% in the last 28 days.

High Jab Rate Equals High Infection Rate

The countries with the most vaccinated people have the most infections.
