A recent study by UC San Francisco finds that vaccine-demolishing variants caused a new spate of breakthrough COVID infections.

The combination of vaccine immunity that wanes over time plus antibody-resistant viral mutations makes for a one-two punch devastating to our immune system.

It also raises doubt about how realistic endemic COVID-19 as a global policy is.

Living With COVID Might Not Work

People who suggest COVID can become an endemic ailment because Zero COVID is “too difficult” might find their position at odds with one conclusion of the UCSF study.

According to UCSF, the virus will mutate as long as it can circulate.

Mutations were behind the increase in Bay Area breakthrough cases. It was not the unvaccinated run amok. The vaccinations do not provide 100 immunity.

As told in advance, COVID-19 infections befell some folks.

COVID Cases Ramped Up This Spring

According to the study leader, Dr. Charles Chiu, antibody-resistant cases more than doubled between February and June of this year.
